HOW IS IT AS GOOD TIME TO BUY OR SELL? THE POINT WAS ACTIVITY HAD PICKED UP SLIGHTLY AND IT DIDN’T TAKE AS LONG TO SELL, ALSO SINCE PRICES CAME DOWN ONE COULD SELL AND THEN UPGRADE OUT OF THEIR STARTER HOME INTO THEIR DREAM HOME.

As a Realtor, full-time agent, and a realist, I will officially declare that the NAR is run by a bunch of idiots. They are of no help to their members, and spend our dues on absolutely ridiculous things. The ads are horrendous, and an embarrassment to the agents who would rather tell their clients the truth.

I was an economist; quit that gig and became a lawyer. I'm most people's worst nightmare: armed with a strong understanding of economics and statistics, I read and understand the fine print!!

Being a lawyer, it is nice to see somebody else portrayed as money-grubbing liars, but I digress. . . .

It is either a good time to buy, or a good time to sell provided that you are rational. The problem is, by the time the vast majority of people understand the market condition, they have actually jumped in en masse to reverse it. I think these bozos can get away with saying something like this because, whichever the majority of people think it is -- they are probably lagging the market by about 3-6 months.

Hey Tom,
I’d love to agree with you, but in this case I don’t. They actually celebrated when their membership went down. They would rather only have full time agents and not a ton of weekend warriors.

I think their goal is to increase the number of people buying and selling with Realtors, and not necessarily more Realtor dues.

Nice to see someone on the ‘inside’ commenting on this. I’ve yet to figure out what it is that NAR is providing to their members… (Though I’d love to help them figure it out.)

First of all, the ad is so ugly that nobody would ever read it.

Maybe they will put out another ad with the same headline and just give reasons to sell. Oh wait, the market is still going down... but I beat they will find some good propoganda for why you should SELL NOW!.
